Emma DeValk grew up in the Chicago suburbs before earning her BFA in Printmaking and Painting from the University of Illinois in 2023. Working in oils, screenprint, and traditional woodcuts, she aims to create dynamic work for all levels of art enjoyers. Meticulous details allow meditation on the still moments that coexist within events, often forgotten, and their memory. DeValk is a graduate student at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in the Art Therapy and Counseling program.
She is currently focused on storytelling: hers, others, and the planet's.
